App, Website & Advertising
Six months ago now we were briefed by our long term client DNSW to begin the process of creating a new digital ecosystem for the 2015 Sydney Vivid Festival. The brief included the new consumer facing website, including a pre-event site, a live event site (for during the festival), and a post Vivid site showcasing the best content as videos, as well as social content feeds, advertising display, and the new Vivid Sydney mobile app for Android and IOS.
Together, the new Vivid Sydney app and website allowed 1.43 million Australians and tourists from overseas to browse and discover the hundreds of events. Users could also personalise photos with words and light filters, save their favourite items and much more.
Our UX and user interface design teams here at Pusher designed the app for Destination NSW and the website which is a beautifully crafted responsive site and a trip planner that includes all the info for the thirteen precincts across Sydney.
Making it easy to shortlist what users want to see is achieved using the ‘Add to My Vivid’ feature under each speaker’s bio on the site which adds the event into a personalised planning calendar. You can do this through the app as well.
The Vivid Sydney Facebook page also kept you up to date if you joined the 266,000 existing fans who were hungry for updates from venues like Cruise Bar over other around The Rocks. With the app in hand you could tap ‘What’s On’ when in the map view and choose walking trails to destinations located by tapping on ‘Near Me’.
If you signed-in to the ‘My Vivid’ section on the site there was also a very handy feature that recommended music, events and speakers for you. By setting up a personalised experience on the site and by connecting with Facebook (or by submitting your details) the recommendations were another good way to navigate and build a plan.
